While the guys are away...
Andy is out of town and therefore my apartment has never been so clean :) I also put up all my fall decorations - for two reasons: 1. With the wedding in just a few weeks, I didn’t want to not have time to get everything up. 2. Andy isn’t here to stop me!

Wedding Hair

I booked the honeymoon this morning. So excited for it. Meetings.
On Tuesday we met with our officiant and his wife. They’re such a sweet couple - married 42 years! They had lots of great stories to tell and we chatted with them for a quite a while. The ceremony is going to be pretty short and sweet. Andy’s dad and my cousin/god-mother Tammy will be giving readings for us.
Last night we met with Bethany, our photographer, to go over all the details...
The shower is a week from today!
I had a chance to catch up with Colleen today and fill her in on all the inside info on the wedding. It was so good to get together. She’s one of those rare people who really just gets it and we can go awhile without seeing each other, but we always pick right up where we left off without skipping a beat. Essentially, she’s good people.
Edit: Colleen is a total sap and I love it.
DJs!
We met with our DJs tonight to go over all the details and song selections. They’re great - Lisa, a woman I used to work with when I was an intern in advertising and her husband Jeff. We’re pretty stoked about our songs and the lights, but what I’m most excited about is the kick-butt props package (think things like fedoras, maracas, leis, sunglasses, funny hats). YES, who...

About the bachelor party...

Gown fitting
Fits great - just needs a teeny bit of a hem in the front and to have the bustle done. Next fitting is a week before the wedding. Mom Nancy also has her dress.
Invites
The majority of the invitations are now in the mail. I just walked them over to the post office. What a tremendous weight off my shoulders! Now I’ll just be nervous until we get some response cards!
Licensed to Wed
With $40, birth certificates, and driver’s licenses, we are now officially owners of a marriage license. We went to the town of Ogden and it just took about 20 minutes. Very easy. I guess this means technically we could elope at any time…don’t worry, we won’t!

Oh man, we’re getting close to the big day! We need to get invites out soon - we’ve kinda been slacking on that part!
Today I have my dress fitting to see about any alterations that need to be made.
First thing tomorrow morning, we’re going to the Ogden Town Hall to get our marriage license.
I’ve set up appointments for the run-through for my hair, to finalize floral...
While Andy’s at work I’m going to pick up the groomsmen gifts today. The guys had fun on Thursday night getting fitted for their tuxedos and going out for drinks. I’m really glad Ryan came home for that!

A lady I work with pointed this article out to me. I couldn’t have put it better myself. To have a big, over-the-top, fancy wedding in this economy is to be completely tone deaf.
We’re putting things like favors, centerpieces, and invites together on our own…and I think it’s more personal as a result :)

Lots done, lots to do
Sorry for no updates in awhile.
Stuff we’ve done! Picked a cake out. It’s going to be awesome, and will look very, very cool. Ryan is making us cake toppers out of sculpey clay because we can’t find anything in a cake topper we like.
Also, we have a DJ. He comes with props. There will be no chicken dance. Just a heads up there.

Ryan and Andy are the cutest. They’ve been on the phone for going on two hours, talking about their jobs, movies, and mostly technology. I know Andy misses Ryan as much as I do.
We started putting items on our registries at Bed Bath & Beyond and Target.
